Summary : A renowned stage actor and director learns to cope with his wife's unexpected passing when he receives an offer to direct a production of Uncle Vanya in Hiroshima.
In my recreation of the movie "Drive My Car," directed by Ryusuke Hamaguchi, the key elements are the red car and the title, followed by the lamprey drawing, which symbolizes the opening story - the lamprey story. These two items hold significant meaning in the film: the red car represents the surface and the main character's personal space, while the lamprey story delves into the inner layers and the darker aspects of relationships.
My design strategy revolves around the idea that if the audience sees the poster before watching the movie, they will be more attentive to the events surrounding these key items. They will wonder who enters the car, what happens inside it, and how the opening story - the lamprey story - connects to the plot. This heightened awareness fosters a deeper understanding of the movie's themes and nuances.
By contemplating the significance of the red car and the lamprey story, viewers can expect a unique and enriched movie-watching experience. They will find themselves making connections between these elements and the unfolding narrative, leading to a deeper appreciation of the film's complexities.
